Parents' Child Abuse with their Children among Students in the Primary Schools in Tabriz, 1995.

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to assess parent’s child abuse and Neglect with own children on the students in the schools of Tabriz. Subjects were 555 students. Content validity and reliability of data gathering instrument was approved by means of pilot study. The results of this study indicated that parent’s physical abuse were 67.6% (low 45/8, mid and high 21/8), Educational Neglect 73/5% (low 51/1, mid and high 22/4), physical Neglect 72/6 percent (low 38, mid and high 34/6), Emotional abuse 47/6% (low 43/2, mid and high 5/4), and emotional Neglect were 48/3%. The results of this study showed significant correlation between the demographic characteristics (age, education and Jobs of parents and Family size) with over 95% reliability on the parent’s child abuse and Neglect.
