dc.description.abstractAbstract: Objective: This research has been performed to identify the stressors in patients received chemotherapy which have been perceived by professional nurses and in -patients in oncology unit. Design: This is a descriptive study gathered data by 2 part (Demography, physical & psycho-social stressors) questionnaire. Setting: Tabriz Shahid Ghazi Tabatabaei Hospital. Participants: The selected samples of this study are based on the purposive sampling, therefore fifty chemotherapy patients and all nurses of oncology unit were chosen as a samples. Results: In order to achieve the research objectives descriptive and inferential statistic have been used and results have been presented on 58 tables and 4 diagrams. The results showed that from nurse’s viewpoint the alopecia (95%); and from patients viewpoint the tiredness (86%) were greatest physical stressor. Greatest psycho-social stressors from nurses viewpoint includes: Fear of disease recurrence, fear of death, economic problems & appearance changes (90/5%); and from patient’s viewpoint was dependence (80%). In this study was significant differences between two groups in the rating of 6 of 9 intensity of stress importance due to physical stressors; and rating of 14 of 23 intensity of stress importance due to psycho-social stressors. Discussion: The finding showed disagreement between two groups on physical and psycho-social stressors, from nurses viewpoint intensity of stress importance due to psycho-social stressors (33/4%) was greatest than physical stressors (19%), but from patients viewpoint they were equal (6%). At the end, there is some suggestions for application of findings and future researches on the basis of this research results.en_US
