In this study, difference between healthy and diabetic groups in response to different doses of radiation on the cell viability and secretion of IL-1β, MDA factors were studied. Materials and Methods: Peripheral blood lymphocyte cells of diabetics (Glucose level A=260, B=287 mg/dl) and healthy individual (Glucose level <100 mg/dl) were exposed to X-rays (2, 4 and 8 Gy). The analysis of cell viability by MTT, MDA by spectrophotometry and IL-1β by ELISA assay were performed for normal/diabetic exposed sample cells. Results: Data showed that there was a significant correlation between percentage of cell viability in normal groups (100, 85, 76 and 67) with diabetic groups A (100, 73, 64 and 50) and diabetic group B (100, 74, 59 and 48) in response to different dose of radiation (0, 2, 4, and 8 Gy), respectively (P<0.01). Study of data analysis of IL-1β levels was statistically significant in the normal group (10, 12, 20 and 32) with diabetic groups A (18, 21, 28 and 64) and diabetic B groups (16, 24, 34 and 70) in response to different radiation dose (0, 2, 4 and 8 Gy), respectively (P<0.001). Analysis of data on MDA levels showed a significant correlation between normal group (0.8, 0.8, 0.9 and 1) with diabetic groups A (1.5, 1.9, 2.2 and 2.5) and diabetic group B (1.6, 1.8, 2 and 2.4) in radiation dose (0, 2, 4 and 8 Gy), respectivily (P<0.05).en_US
