| dc.description.abstract | When patients with febrile illnesses also develop a rash, they tend to visit the hospital with serious disease in mind. Many rashes that appear during febrile illnesses are in fact caused by various infectious diseases. Since infectious exanthematous diseases range from mild infections that disappear naturally to severe infectious diseases, focus on and basic knowledge of these diseases is required.
Materials and Methods:
In this study, all patients were enrolled in Imam Reza and Sina hospitals in two years (2017-2019) and the patient information was included in the checklist that was designed and finally analyzed statistically.
Results:
In this study, 300 patients were examined due to fever and rash. The main cause of fever and rash has been bacterial causes. The mean hospital stay in patients with fever and rash was3.1±1.5. Only 6.25% of patients with fever and rash complained of viral death. In this study, 80 patients had fever due to viral agents. The average age of people with fever and rash caused by viruses was 32.46±4.91. Most patients have been infected with the chickenpox virus and then the most common cause of herpes. Pharmacological reactions were another cause of fever and rash in this study, with a mean age of 44.51± 6.37. Antibiotics are the most common cause of drug reaction in the present study, followed by antiepileptic drugs and NSAIDs. The mean hospital stay in patients with fever and rash was 12.1 ± 3.4 due to malignancy and rheumatology. In rheumatological and malignant factors, 21.42% of people died, which is a higher percentage than other cases. 10.9% of bacterial patients had died of fever and rash. Also, 21.79% of these patients had a history of contact with animals. 10.25% of patients also reported a history of contact with infected people.
