dc.description.abstractThe aim of this study is the comparison of bladder capacity of renal failure patients with and without urine immediately, one month and three months after renal transplantation. Materials and Methods: This study was a cross-sectional descriptive analytical, which performed on all patients that has been referred to the kidney transplant department in Tabriz as a consequential case in the years 2017-19, at least 30 samples. These patients divided into two groups according to whether they have preoperative urine or not. Using ultrasound routinely, bladder wall thickness is measured in both groups and routinely and it was redone one and three months after transplantation. In cases without urine serum infused to bladder. 24-hour urine volume and aerodynamic status (if the patient is suspected of having voiding disorder) is recorded in the patient's file. Both groups should have at least 150 cc fluid in the bladder at the time of ultrasound. Bladder capacity function evaluated by comparing the volume of voiding at each time voiding in the first and third months in the patient's file. Approach of information was through analysis of patient records and collecting data was used from a questionnaire prepared for that purpose. Results: In this study, half of the cases before surgery were without urine and the other half had urine (15:15). The median (25th and 75th percentile) urine volume in every voiding time immediately, one month and three months after surgery were 400/0 (337/5-450/0), 425/0 (400/0-500/0) and 450/0 (400/0-500/0) ml, respectively. The frequency (%) of bladder thickness status was in cases before surgery were without urine in 2 cases (13.3%), normal and in 13 cases (86.7%) increased. Also, the frequency (%) of bladder thickness status was in cases before surgery were with urine in 5 cases (33.3%), normal and in 10 cases (66.7%) increased. Bladder thickness status was not statistically different between the two groups of patients with and without urine (P-value = 0.390). In both groups of patients with and without urine, changes in urine volume in every voiding time at all three intervals immediately, one month and three months after surgery were statistically significant (P-value <0.05). Also, between the two groups of patients with and without urine, there was no statistically significant difference in the volume of urine in every voiding time in all three groups immediately, one month and three months after surgery (P-value> 0.05). In both groups of patients with normal and increased bladder thickness, changes in urine volume in every voiding time at all three intervals immediately, one month and three months after surgery were statistically significant (P-value <0.05). Also, between the two groups of patients with normal and increased bladder thickness, changes in urine volume in every voiding time at all three intervals immediately, one month and three months after surgery were not statistically significant (P-value> 0.05).en_US
