Introduction:According to the effects of different root canal preparation instruments on the amount of apically extruded debries that cuase changes in success rate of root canal treatment and post treatment complications and the lack of sufficient studies to review Hyflex files( HEDM; Colten/ Whale dent, Altstatten, Switzerland) and BioRaCe files( FKG Dentaire SA, LA-Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland) and XP- endo shaper files( XPS; FKG Dentaire SA, LA-Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland) The purpose of this study was to investigate and compare the amount of apically extruded debris of the tooth during preparation stage using three rotary files BioRaCe, Hyflex and Xp-endo Shaper. Methods and Materials: In this experimental study, 45 freshly extracted human single-rooted and single canal mandibular premolars were collected. The eppendorf tubes were preweighed with an accuracy of 0.0001g with HR 200 scales. Before preparing and clearing the canal, the eppendorf tubes were closed at the end of the tooth. Then, the canal was prepared and washed one millimeter shorter than the tooth length with the mentioned three rotary files. Finally, according to the weight of the empty tube, the weight of the debris left after drying was calculated and examined. Results: In this study, the extruded debris of the BioRaCe rotary system had the highest rate with an average of 551/2 mg. The rotary systems of Hyflex with an average of 14/1 mg and XP-endo Shaper with an average of 11/9 mg had the next output ranks, respectively. Two-by-two comparison of rotary systems in terms of the amount of apically extruded debris showed that the amount of debris removed from the tooth apex in the BioRaCe file was significantly higher than both Hyflex and Xp-endo Shaper files (P = 0.000). However, the Xp-endo Shaper and Hyflex files did not differ significantly in terms of the amount of debris extracted from the apex (P =0/998). Conclusion: Whithin the limitations of this in vitro study, all the tested systems extruded debries. However, the Hyflex and XP- Endo shaper instrumentation systems were associated with less debris extrusion compared with the BioRaCe system.en_US
