Comparison of cognitive functions in patients with multiple sclerosis and healthy subjects

Abstract

Due to the significant prevalence of defects and cognitive disorders and its important effect on occupational and social disability in MS patients we did a study for checking disorders and early treatment of defects and cognitive disirders.Methods:Information gathering methods in this study was questionnaire.That way after abtaining requiredpermissions ,by reffering to Tabriz MS forum center and neurological department in Razi Hospital in Tabriz ,34 patient and 34 healthy subjects (people without psychiatric ,neurologic and another acute disease) studying to do tests and were compared from the point of view cognitive functions.Results:In this study 34 patients whit MS 34 healthy subjects were studied from the point of view cognitive functions that two groups matched in terms of gender and education.In the group of patients ,executive functions(symbol/letter digit modality Test),attention(Trail making Task and Stroop Test) and working memory(Forward / Back digit span Task and Letter-Number sequencing Task) was disturbed.
