The aim of present study was to assess the diagnostic acuity of PCGS comparing to LOCS III.Methods & Materials:In a cross-sectional study from April 2016 to May 2017, patients with senile cataract were evaluated for grading of lens opacity using LOCS III as a subjective and PCGS as an objective methods. Patients with pure age-related cataract with no previous history of eye surgery, eye trauma or chronic systemic disease between 50 and 95 years of age were included. An experienced trained ophthalmologist examined the participants using a Topcon SL-3c Slit lamp and LOCS III grading chart. A week later, Patients were examined using Oculus Pentacam Typ 70700 and graded using PNS grading score. Spearman’s ranked correlation and Bland-Altman Plot were implemented for analysis using MedCalc 14.8.1. P<0.05 was regarded as statistically significant.Results:Three-hundred eyes from 281 patients were examined. Nineteen patients were evaluated for their both eyes. Ninety-two patients were female and patients in their 7th decade of their life were the most common group. The correlation between grades of two methods was 0.47(p<0.001). Results of Bland-Altman plot demonstrated a moderate alignment between two methods.en_US
