dc.description.abstractIntroduction & Objective: Promotion of workers health and safety is one of the main tasks of managers and planners. One of the important sciences that can assist managers to achieve this goal is ergonomics. Mental workload, job satisfaction and job involvement are the factors that influence the health, safety, behavior, performance and efficiency of workers in workplace from ergonomics view. This study was conducted to evaluate mental workload and its relation to and impact on job satisfaction and job involvement of personnel in social security organization health management of east Azerbaijan province Materials and methods: This cross-sectional study was performed on 395 staffs of health management in tabriz.Iran. The data collecting tools were four questionnaires including demographic characteristics, NASA-TLX, job descriptive index (JDI)(Vissoki and Chrome) and job involvement questionnaire (Kanungo 1985).The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, pearson correlation, one way ANOVA and general liner model with the SPSS software (version 25) at significant level of 0.05. Results: Data analysis results declare that the average mental workload scale was 70.84±12.07 and at high level, job satisfaction with 3.54±0.58 as average scale was at medium level and job involvement with 28.3±6.2 as average scale was at medium level. The results revealed significant reduction of mental workload, job satisfaction and job involvement score in staffs with different jobs. Among different dimensions of mental workload the dimension of performance with an average score of 84.46±15.81 and dimension of effort with an average score of 83.42±16.18 were the highest and the dimension of frustration and disappointment with an average score of 33.23±28.4 was the lowest one. Among different aspects of job satisfaction the aspects of Head with an average score of 3.76±0.8 was the highest and the aspects of promotion with an average score of 2.97±0.8 was the lowest one. The participants’ mental workload had negative effects on their job satisfaction and job involvement but no ststistical significant relation was observed. There was significant direct and positive relationship between job satisfaction and job involvement. Conclusion: In order to improve the work conditions the administrative and technological controls should be implemented and actions need to be taken to modify mental workload dimensions specially dimensions with high amount and dimensions that have relationship with job satisfaction and job involvement. With regard to high level of dissatisfaction in promotion and wayges, by improving working conditions through reviewing the job promotion, pay and benefits, job satisfaction and job involvement can be incrased in staffs. And further researches are required to identify factors that afeect the mental workload, job satisfaction and job involvement in health management staffs.en_US
