dc.description.abstractBackground: Regular and daily physical activity during childhood and at school is one of the important part of requirements of normal growth, development and well-being. To achieve physical activity promotion among school child aged population recess as outside of class time The purpose of the present study was to assess recess activities as well as status of physical activities among a sample of Iranian students at the primary schools. Methods: The nonequivalent group, pretest-posttest design was performed March 2012 and June, 2012 in the City of Shahindej, located in North-west of Iran.in four randomly selected schools from a list of 26 elementary schools.From four selected schools two the school girls and two boy’s schools. One of the girl’s schools as well as school-under interventional and case control schools was considered and this action was also the boys' school. The sample size in each group was estimated 100 cases. Criterion entry study not having disease that preventer as implement moderate or vigorous physical activity, and individuals employed in the school under study.Have Frequent absences, and unwillingness individuals to participate in the study were as an exclusion criteria. In this study, physical activity, mental health and happiness as the main variables and parental literacy level, Rating Birth, educational status and student’s educational grade were considered as subsidiary variables. In onset study was done pre-test. Then according to data from the pre-test was implemented, for intervention groups training classes, along with the distribution CD and training Pnflt.and By using oil paint design was drawn on the playground, play equipment was placed available to childrens . After end of the interventional period performed final evaluation. Then data collected for analysis were entered into SPSS version 17. Results: Initially Backward logistic regression analysis showed that gender parent’s B (SE)-1.60(.34) (p<0.001) father’s education 2.56(0/66) (p<0.001), educational grade of children 1.54(0.33) (p<0.001) and family function 0.09(0.05) (p<0.001) were significantly related to the children’s physical activity level.After95 the intervention also results showed there were significant difference in the mean Pain or physical discomfort(p<0.001), Behavioral problems(p<0.001), mental health(p<0.001), Self-esteem, General health perceptions(p<0.001), Children’s health status(p<0.001), Parental emotional(p<0.001) worry or concern about child’s health(p<0.001), Time spent by parents for child’s health(p<0.001), Family activities(p<0.001), Ability to compromise with family members(p<0.001) and Happiness(p<0.001) between the intervention and control groups. Also there were significantly related to the children’s physical activity level and these items. Conclusion: Promoting parents’ awareness and schools’ staff about importance of physical activities especially in recess times must be an important part of school and community mental health promotion programs.en_US
