dc.description.abstractBakground: Dental decays are still considered as a common health hazar threatening seriously the general health and quality of life. Method&Tools:The present cross-sectional study aimed at identifying dental decay impact on quality of life. Preschool children were selected randomly through clustered sampling from five regional educationorganizations in Tabriz, Iran; 2015. Data collecting regarding children Oral Health-Related quality of life (OHRQoL) along with demographic data wereaccomplished by using a valid questionnaire. The questionnaires were filled out by the children’s parents. The oral health status of the children was examined by pediatric dentistry using the decayed, missed and filled teeth (dmft) index. Results: Out of 756 preschool children, 51.5% were boys with the age group of 4-7, and Mean (Standard Deviation) value 5.76 (0.78). The M (SD) value of dmft index among boys was 5.56(4.53); and among girls was 5.47(4.0) without significant difference. (P>0.05).93 Conclusion: Parent perception of quality of life was not significant except in the scope of physical function based on child sex. Parent perceived quality of life associated to oral health in the child scope of physical and psychological, and social interactions affecting on family functions revealed a significant relationship between mother occupation, and educational level and socio-economic status. It is recommended to sensitize health providers that improving child and family quality of life strongly dependence on early preventive interventions, especially among families with low education and socioeconomic conditions.en_US
