The present study was aimed to determine the frequency of sinus involvement in patients suffering from Mucormycosis and the association of it with disease prognosis. Methods: The present descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out on all the mucormycosis patients admitted to Imam Reza Hospital (PBUH) in 7 years from 90 to 96 and met the inclusion criteria and did not meet the exclusion criteria. Demographic, diagnostic, and prognostic data were collected by the premade data collection form and were analyzed through IBM SPSS and in all statistical tests, P<0.05 was considered significant. Results: 31 patients were included in the study; the mean age of them was 58.32±16.29 years; 61.3 percent of them were males. Eighty-seven percent of the patients also had diabetes, which was not controlled in 22 percent of them. The most prevalent involvement was in Maxillary sinus, and the least frequent involvement was observed in the frontal sinus. There was a significant negative correlation between frontal sinus involvement and admission duration (r= -0.377, P=0.036); a significant correlation was observed between smoking and admission duration (r=0.374, P= 0.038), a significant correlation was found between Amphotericin B and eye involvement (r=0.455, P=0.010).en_US
