dc.description.abstractThe aim of this study was to report the frequency of endophthalmitis after eye surgery and its review. Materials and methods: Each patient's questionnaire has been completed on the basis of a hospital record.Demographic data including age, sex and type of surgery, background illness and postoperative prognosis of both eyes were recorded in the last follow up of the questionnaire. Finally, statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 22 software and the relationship between variables in case of p <0.01 was statistically significant Nikoukari Hospital. Results: A total of 50,000 cataract surgeries were performed at the Nikoukari Hospitall during the years 86-96.219 patients with endophthalmitis were referred to a hospital after cataract surgery. According to this study, the incidence of endophthalmitis after cataract surgery in the 10 years was 0.44%.The number of men was more than women. The mean age of the subjects was 68.62 ± 13.62. The number of people with a history of high blood pressure of 64 and people with diabetes is 32. The left eye of the patient is more affected than the right eye by the endophthalmitis. Among patients with endophthalmitis, 104 have been acutely affected by chronic conditions and 58 have undergone endophthalmitis.Of the 84 cases in which the surgical procedure was mentioned, 74 patients were undergoing PHACO and the rest by ECCE method.
