Postoperative pain is a common problem in perioperative period and cause several problems. Analgesic effects of many narcotics have been widely studied. In this study, the effects of subcutaneous injection of methadone and tramadol before skin suture on postoperative pain following laparatomy were compared. Methods: In this study, sixty patients enrolled the survey that was randomly allocated into two groups. After fascial repairment in laparatomy, in group one tramadol (100 mg tramadol diluted with normal saline to 10 cc) and in group two methadone (70 μg/kg methadone diluted with normal saline to 10 cc) injected subcutaneous around the incision. Then patient’s pain 1,6,12,18,24 hours after surgery measured with VAS and NRS scale. If VAS>5 25 mg pethidine injected. At the end compared mean pethidine consumption and the average severity of pain between two groups. Results: There was no significant difference the average severity of pain 1, 6 and hour after surgery (p>0.05). But the average severity of pain 18, 24 and hour after surgery in tramadol group was significantly lower (p<0.05). Also, pethidine consumption in first 24 hours after surgery was significantly lower in tramadol group (p<0.05).en_US
