| dc.description.abstract | Biliary atresia is reported in about one in ten thousand cases and in some studies it is reported to be about 1,4000 (1,800 to 1,000,000) births.So, aim of this was to evaluate the five year results of surgical operations in patients with biliary atresis in Tabriz Pediatric Center.
Materials and Methods:
All infants suffering from biliary asthma were studied at the age of less than 3 months from the beginning of the year 2011 to March 2016, who referred to the pediatric pediatric hospital of Tabriz for surgical treatment. Subsequently, using the checklist, the type of surgery was determined in all patients according to their records, as well as cases such as age, sex, time of operation, and post-operative examinations, including bile ducts, biliary levels Rubin's serum, improved symptoms that had already been documented and analyzed.
Results:
In this evaluation, 44 patients with biliary athresia have been evaluated, of the patients assessed, 4 patients (9.1%) at the age of less than 1 month, 23 patients (52.3%) at the age of 1 to 2 months, and 17 patients (38.6%) were more than 2 months old. Also, in terms of response status to treatment, a total of 26 patients (59%) died eventually. Biliary flow was observed in 13 patients (29.5%) and the need for liver transplantation in 21 patients (47.7%). | en_US |
