dc.description.abstractThe aim of this study was to evaluate the prevalence of restless legs syndrome in renal failure patients. Materials and Methods: In this case-control study, 180 patients with chronic renal failure (90 hemodialysis patient and 90 non-dialysis patients) referred to Nephrology Clinic and Dialysis ward of Imam Reza Medical Center in Tabriz were enrolled. Data were collected using a questionnaire based on the International Association for Restless Leg Syndrome criteria. Data were analyzed by SPSS 22 software. Results: One hundred and eighty patients, aged 60.4±17.2 years were included in the study.92 (51.7%) were male and 88 (48.3%) were female. 90 non-dialysis patient and 90 hemodialysis patients were evaluated. 49 patients Of all subject studied had restless legs syndrome, there were 16 non-dialysis patient and 33 hemodialysis patients .higher incidence of restless legs syndrome was observed in hemodialysis patients (P = 0.001). Significantly higher incidence of restless legs syndrome was observed among males than females (P = 0.001).en_US
