Introduction: After periodontal surgery, in most cases the surgical area is covered by surgical pack. It has been suggested that packs may minimize complications such as postoperative infection and bleeding, facilitate tissue repair by preventing physical trauma during chewing and speaking, and prevent granulation tissue formation. The aim of the this study was to the comparison of Diplen LX membrane and Coe-pack usage from the patient preference point of view and on the pain and wound healing after the periodontal flap surgery in patients with moderate to severe periodontitis Materials and Methods: In this randomized clinical trial study, 4 patients were evaluated for comparison of the use of Diplen LX and Coe-pack membrane for patient preference for pain and wound healing after periodontal flap surgery in patients with moderate to severe periodontitis. . Pain scores were assessed on a VAS (Visual Analogue Scale) scale at days 3rd and 7th postoperatively and compared between the two dressings (Diplex LX and Membrane Coe-pack). On the 7th and 14th days after both flap surgeries, surgical site repair was evaluated using the WHI (Wound Healing Index). Results: The mean age of the patients was 33.15±8.93 years with a mean of 31 years. The lowest age of the patients was 19 years and the highest was 54 years. Of the 26 patients studied, 12 were male and 14 were female. The mean pain score in the Coe-pack group at day 7th was 1.19±1.05 and in the Diplen LX group was 0.26±0.45. The mean WHI score in the Coe-pack group at day 14th was 3.84±0.45 and in the Diplen LX membrane group was 4.57±0.24. Conclusion: Pain rate was lower in both groups using periodontal dressing and lower in Diplen LX membrane group. Also, wound healing score in patients based on WHI was also higher and excellent in the group of Diplex LX membrane. Due to the above factors, the majority of patients preferred the use of Diplen LX membrane.en_US
