| dc.description.abstract | Background: Due to increased life expectancy and improved quality of life, the number of people with toothlessness has a significant increase in communities. Although moving dentures have significant effects, they are still widely used as an affordable and comfortable treatment for endodontic patients. In spite of all aspects of treatment, many dentists are confronted with patients who, despite all the considerations with their complete prosthesis, are in trouble and unable to properly use their prostheses. After delivery of the complete denture, a wide range of problems is observed. Therefore, this study was conducted to evaluate the problems and functioning of complete mobile moving prosthesis in patients referred to Oral Diseases Department of Tabriz Dental School in 2019.
Material and methods: All of the studies were conducted through a questionnaire answered by 36 patients referring to Tabriz Faculty of Dentistry. During the examination of patients under the supervision of the supervisor and their consultant, questions about the probable complications of the prosthesis were asked.The questionnaire consisted of 20 questions in 6 domains designed by kamagramine and its colleagues in 2014, and its validity and reliability have been proven.In the dentist's examination, problems related to occlusion, ulcer, tightness and fracture were examined and recorded in the questionnaire.The results of the study were reported using descriptive statistics (mean, standard deviation, frequency (percentage).T-test and Pearson tests were used to compare satisfaction in groups.Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS17 software and a significant level of P <0.05 was considered.
Finding: In the area of satisfaction, 20 questions were asked. According to the results, the mean and standard deviation of total satisfaction in women were54,86± 10,37and49/71±8/61in men. The results showed that there was a statistically significant difference between the evaluation of vertical dimension (P = 0.03), fracture of complete tooth (P = 0.05) and plan occlusion (P = 0.005) in normal and abnormal patients. Comparison of scores in each domain between males and females indicated that there was only a statistically significant difference between males and females (P = 0.011) and beauty and speech (P = 0.016). In other domains, there was no significant difference between male and female scores. The majority of patients were satisfied with their teeth, and the highest satisfaction was in the area of expectations and maxillary tooth.
Conclusion: The findings of this study can provide appropriate information for the prevalence of complete denture satisfaction and performance and will be used in consultation with patients. | en_US |
