dc.description.abstractBackground and Objectives:Patient's health and safety is one of the most important concern the human and accurate implementation of drug orders is an important part of treatment and care in the nursing profession. Nurses are disposed to human errors so it is necessary to determine and prevent the factors influencing medications errors. Although many studies have investigated this issue in iran,but the effects of psychosocial factors Relying on its original models relationship between sleep quality of nurses' medication errors also have not been investigated thoroughly. The present study aimed at investigating the impact of these factors by effort - reward and quality of sleep on nurses’ medication errors in the work environment. The setting was govertal hospital located in Tehran, Iran. Methods: It was a cross-sectional study implemented in 2015. 379 nurses in Tehran govertal hospitals agreed to participate in this study. A multi-section questionnaire Personal and professional information, medication errors, effort and reward imbalance and sleep quality was employed to collect necessary data from the participants and the data were analyzed using Spss software version 16. Results: The results of the study showed that 110 nurses (29%) reported medication errors in that year. The most frequent errors were related to wrong dosage, wrong drug and wrong patient, respectively. The results showed that there were significant relationships between medications errors and the stress of imbalance between effort and reward (pvalue=.02) and job commitment and job stress (pvalue=.027). Also between the general Condition of sleep disorder was observed associated significant (pvalue=.02) with incidence of medication errors. Conclusions: It seems different factors influence medications errors and among these factors the psychosocial factors should be highlighted and intervention actions appear necessary.en_US
