dc.description.abstractIntroduction: In the 81th century, we face two issues of aging and loneliness in the elderly. As the elderly population grows, the number of elderly widows also increases. In such a situation, the remarriage of widows will be one of the problems to come. This study was conducted to explain the views of the widows and their children in bukan City, in order to provide an opportunity for introducing a suggestion for increasing remarriage in elderly widows. Materials and Methods: This qualitative study was carried out in the year 8016 at 5 Bukan Universal Health Centers. Data were collected in a group of elderly widows by individual interviewing method (42 cases) and in group of children by focus group (six groups). Data analysis was done by content analysis method. Findings: According to findings in the elderly group, barriers to remarriage in five main themes normative-value barriers, Children, Economic, personal and interactive and the benefits of getting married in the two main themes of individual and social benefits and the consequences of remarriage in four major personal, economic, family and social themes. In the group of children, barriers to remarriage in four main themes of socio-cultural factors, financial-economic concerns of children, perception of parent's abilities and psychological barriers of children and the benefits of remarriage in the three main themes of individual, economic- financial, and psychological benefits and the consequences of remarriage in four main psychological, social, economic and family themes. Conclusion: According to the viewpoint of the participants, consideration was given to the beliefs, norms, cultures and ethical values governing the society, the family and the elderly of the city of Bukan as One of the important pillars of the program is the promotion of remarriage at an advanced age.en_US
