dc.description.abstractIntroduction: Tissue engineering with the help of suitable biocompatible materials tries to restore the biological activity of teeth and bones. The aim of this study was to prepare hydroxyapatite-gelatin nanofibers, evaluate physicochemical properties and their cytotoxicity on dental pulp stem cells. Materials and Methods: Nanohydroxyapatite and gelatin powder were used to make hydroxyapatite-gelatin nanofibers. The prepared scaffolds were evaluated of size, shape and morphology. Finally, cytotoxicity of these structures was studied by MTT assay. Results: The diameter of the hydroxyapatite-gelatin nanofibers was 100 nm and zeta potential was -20 mV. The prepared Nano-fibers in the concentration of 5 mg increased the growth of dental pulp stem cells. Results of MTT assay for scaffold toxicity showed that gelatin hydroxyapatite nanofibers in concentrations of 1 and 5 mg / ml significantly (p <0.05) increased the growth of these cells. Conclusion: In addition to favorable physicochemical properties of Hydroxyapatite-gelatin nanofibers, their provide a non-toxic substrate for dental pulp stem cells. It seems that hydroxyapatite-gelatin nanofibers can have a potential role in bone restoration process.en_US
