Abstract
Abstract:
Introduction: Emergency Medical System plays an important role in the timely treatment of patients and aims to provide high-quality care, reduce their harm and mortality. The response time (from receipt of the message to the scene) is a critical factor in determining the quality of the medical emergency system. Studies on response time in Iran have been subject to limitations. The aim of this study was to determine the response time of ambulance in Tabriz during the second six months of 1396 and to identify the factors influencing the time of ambulance response in the emergency medical system of Tabriz.
Analysis method:
The present study is a descriptive cross-sectional study carried out on ambulance missions at Tabriz Medical Emergency Center in the second six months of 1396. Researcher after obtaining permission from the Ethics Committee of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences and receiving a letter from the vice chancellor of the Faculty of Nursing and coordinated by the Emergency Department of Tabriz, extracted the data file for the ambulance missions selected by the criteria in the sample. In order to determine the response time of the ambulance and the effective factors, the researcher carefully analyzed the data recorded for each of the selected missions and extracted the response time of the ambulance and its relevant factors. . At the end, the information was analyzed using SPSS version 16 software.
Findings:
The average time of ambulance response in Tabriz city is 11.58 ± 5.69. The mean of the time scoring from the arrival time of the message to the movement from the base, the time from the ambulance to the treatment center, the time to arrival of the ambulance to the treatment center to the patient's delivery, the time to deliver the patient to the treatment center to reach the base was respectively 2.52±1.33 ، 14.90±9.14 ،4.25±2.88، 30.26 ±18.85 The results showed that there is a significant relationship between ambulance response time with ambulance readiness, traffic conditions, time shift incidence and ambulance personnel's degree.
Conclusion:
Based on the results of this study, the mean response time in pre-hospital emergency department of Tabriz is high. Ambulance response time can be improved by improving placeholders such as ambulance technical readiness, urban geographic location, ambulance personnel qualification,by considering of time and mechanism coordinates of the incident and accelerating the process of providing emergency care services.
