dc.description.abstract | Introduction: In studies conducted to date, a comprehensive study of the level of systemic diseases in lichen planus has not been studied simultaneously with more than one disease. Therefore, in this study, while evaluating lichen planus with thyroid disease, increased Chronic blood pressure and hepatitis, for the first time, data were collected from patients in Tabriz.
Methods: In this retrospective study, all records of patients (n = 402) with lichen planus referred to Oral Diseases Department of Tabriz Dental School based on entry and exit criteria from 1387 to 1397 were studied. Then information about the incidence of systemic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, thyroid disease, hepatitis B and C, and the rate and type of drug use were also investigated. Finally, the data were analyzed by SPSS 17 software.
Results: Our results showed that out of 402 patients with lichen planus, 23% of cases had systemic disease, of which the highest frequency was related to diabetes with 23 cases. There were 17 cases of hypertension, 12 cases of heart disease and 10 cases of thyroid disease. Also, in our study, most cases of metformin were reported with 13 cases and then losartan with 11 cases. While, the lowest consumption of Citritsin was reported with one case.
Conclusion: The results of this study showed that most people with diabetes were suffering from lichen planus. In addition, our results showed that there was no relationship between systemic disease and type of disease with consumable drugs. | en_US |
