Introduction: Plants of genus Achillea have been used in different cultures as traditional medicines. Objective: Due to the importance of medicinal properties of genus Achillea, A. aucheri was selected for . phytochemical analysis along with evaluation of its antioxidant and antimicrobial property. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Methods: The aerial parts of A. aucheri were extracted with petroleum ether, chloroform, and methanol. Later, the methanol extract was fractionated via solid phase extraction (SPE), vacuum liquid chromatography (VLC), and reversed phase high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Consequently, structures of the isolated compounds were analyzed through spectral analysis 1D NMR and 2D NMR data. Besides, the essential oil of A. aucheri achieved through hydrodistillation was analyzed via Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS). . . . The antioxidant property of A. aucheri methanol extract by DPPH method. Additionally, the antimicrobial effects of this essential oil were studied on 8 bacteria and 1 fungus. Results: Structure elucidation of the purified compounds revealed presence of x and y derivative in A. aucheri methanol extract. GC-MS analysis of the essential oil showed α-thujone, Artemisia alcohol, and Yomogi alcohol as the most frequent components of the essential oil. Moreover, the RC50 value for free radical scavenging activity of the methanol extract was determined as 86/28± 3 µg/ml. . . . . . Conclusion: The phytochemical analysis of this plant showed presence of x and y. Also this study have shown A. aucheri has significant antioxidant and antimicrobial capacity.en_US
