dc.description.abstractThis study was a descriptive-analytic cross-sectional study. In this study, all patients with lupus and lupus nephritis were examined by a rheumatologist who completed the dissertation and were included in the study. The disease activity was assessed on the basis of SLEDAI criteria. The data of all patients were recorded and samples were taken from the patients for laboratory markers (necessary tests were C4, C3, NGAL, dsDNA, IL17, ANA). Blood samples were taken for the laboratory. The control group were healthy individuals matched with age and sex in the group of patients and after the examination and interview and, if necessary, routine tests were selected under the supervision of the expert physician. Finally, all of the patients' data and information from the laboratory entered the SPSS v20 statistical analysis program and analyzed the data. Results: In this study, 50 patients with lupus (25 without lupus nephritis and 25 patients with lupus nephritis) were evaluated with an average age of 36.72 ± 11.29 years, of which 80% were females. The severity of lupus was evaluated among patients and it was observed that the mean score of SLEDAI in patients was 9.66% and 88% of patients had scores of 6 and above and had active disease. The results showed that NGAL and IL17 levels in patients with lupus (case group) were significantly higher than healthy subjects. Also, there was a significant correlation between NGAL and IL17 in patients with lupus and lupus nephritis.en_US
