dc.description.abstractAbstract: Background and aim: Using educational methods among nursing students is very important, as they increase knowledge and affect their attitude and ultimately their performance. The use of an effective training method leads to reform and change in bad habits and replacement of correct hygiene habits. This issue is also very important element for providing, maintaining and improving the health of patients.The general purpose of this study was to compare the effect of two educational methods of film displaying and lecture on knowledge, attitude and performance of hand hygiene in nursing-midwifery students of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences. Method:In this study, the research population included 5th and 6th semester nursing students of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences, School of Nursing and Midwifery, which are randomly selected based on inclusion criteria. The number of samples in each group was calculated to 42 nursing students.This research is a clinical trial study. The data collection tool consists of 4 parts. In both group, demographic questionnaire, and questionnaire of knowledge, attitude and performance of hand hygiene before and after intervention were conducted. Findings: The results showed that the nursing students knowledge before (3.35± 1.30) and after (5.95± 2.10) training and believe there is a significant difference before (75.33±6.61) and after (79.83±11.38) training. (P<0.05) This is despite the fact that the students performance before and after training, there is no significant difference screening method. Also among knowledge , believes the students performance before and after training to lecture there is no significant difference. Results: The results of this study showed that there is difference between knowledge and belief of nursing students before and after training using film displaying method while that is no significant difference between the performance of nursing students before and after training by displaying method. It seems that using of an effective educational method of hand hygiene in nursing student to benecessary.en_US
