Introduction: High blood pressure is one of the most important risk factors in increasing the mortality and morbidity of cardiovascular diseases. Consequently, control of this disease can significantly reduce the burden of these diseases in the community. Aim: To evaluate the effect of once daily doses of amlodipine twice daily in controlling blood pressure Materials and Methods: According to the prescription of 2 mg amlodipine 5 mg daily, some physicians, in contrast to their daily dose in the sources, were randomly divided into two groups of patients in this clinical trial study. They were categorized as age and Gender matched. Systolic and diastolic blood pressure was measured at the beginning of the visit, 4 weeks after taking the drug and 8 weeks after taking the drug. Results: A single dose of amlodipine in patients with hypertension led to a reduction in systolic blood pressure after 8 weeks of treatment of 6 mm Hg and diastolic blood pressure of 4.5 mm Hg, but in the group of patients Bid doses received only 0.2 mmHg of systolic blood pressure. Conclusion: The results of this study showed that the use of less divided doses per day for patients with hypertension leads to a significant reduction in blood pressure after 8 weeks of treatment.en_US
