dc.description.abstractThe aim of this research is to determine five years’ prevalence of oral SCC of the patients referred to Oral Medicine Department. Methods & Materials: A descriptive and retrospective study was done using 101 medical files of patients whose oral and maxillofacial malignancy was histopothologically confirmed. (From April 2011 to March 2016) demographic, clinical and radiological data were extracted. We’ve used SPSS software to analyze data and drawing table and charts. Results: In this study, 101 patients (41 women, 60 men, 2 to 3, with a mean age of 61.74 ± 14.13 years old) were included, the most patients were in the seventh decade, with the most patients chief complaint was oral ulcer (61 %), also only 6% of patients had a history of malignancy in their family, 22% had poor oral health status, 47% had smoking history, and none of the patients had history of alcohol and chemicals.en_US
