Study of pain parameters and levels of hsa-miR-25, hsa- miR-939,hsa-miR1201, RNU44 and IL-6 in blood, before and after application ofdry-needlingon active myofascial trigger points in muscles of shoulder girdle
Abstract
Our aim in the projecthave beento study pain parameters (NPRS,PPT,DASH) and changes in serum levels of hsa-miR-939, hsa-miR-25, has-microRNA1201, RNU44 and IL-6 before and after treatment by DN method in patients with shoulder and neck pain.
Method:Twenty patients with pain in their shoulders, upper limbs, heads and necks who had 3-5 active MTrPs in their shoulder girdle muscles participated in the study. They were treated with 5 sessions of DN, one session per day every three days for two weeks. Before and after treatment, The patients were assessed by Numeric Pain RatingScale)NPRS(, Pressure-Pain Threshold (PPT), and Disabilities of the Arm,Shoulder andHand (DASH).SPSS softwarewas used for the statistical analysis.Their serum levels of micro RNAs were measured by real-time PCRandΔΔCt method then compared using REST software and also IL-6 by ELISA.
Result:A significant difference (P ≤0.05)was observed in NPRS, DASH, and PPT results after the intervention. Results ofstatistical analysis indicated up-regulation of miR-939, miR-25 and down-regulation for miR-1201 and RNU44 with a significant difference (P<0.05) after the treatment.but IL-6 was not significant.
