Effects of Alternation in Lipid Profile Predictors, Glycemic Status and Anthropometric Variables on Cirrhosis Out comes

Abstract

The spectrum of this disease varies from simple statuses to hepatic cirrhosis. NAFLD is a prevalent condition and its prevalence is growing worldwide. Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) has become a global epidemic, affecting 20–40% of the general adult population. Up to now the status of serum lipids, blood sugar, BMI, and their association with cirrhosis out come in NAFLD patients have not been evaluated. Therefore, in this study, the prognostic variables including lipid profile, glycemic and anthropometric index and their association with cirrhosis outcome have been evaluated. Methods & Materials: This study has been completed as a cohort study with longitudinal strategy. All patients attending to fatty liver disease’s clinic in Tabriz whom their data has been entered into the database since 2007 were included in this study. The data were extracted from this database and was completed in case of any missing data by calling patients. Finally, after completing the data, it was analyzed using statistical analysis software.
