The aim of this study was to assess the Glidescope on the cardiovascular responses to laryngoscopy and tracheal intubation in the elderly patients undergoing gynecologic surgery. Materials and Methods:In this clinical trial, 70 elderly patients ≥60 years, ASA class I-III, and scheduled for gynecologic surgery, undergoing general anesthesia with endotracheal intubation were studied. Tracheal Intubation was performed using by Glidescope (study group; n=35) or Macintosh Laryngoscope (Control group; n=35) Results:Frequency of increased blood pressure after tracheal intubation was significantly lower in the study group (20%) than the control group (45.7%) (p=0.002). The mean of systolic blood pressure was significantly smaller in the study group at 1 (130.2±18.9 vs 144.9±18.5 mmHg; p=0.002), 2 (127.4±14.4 vs 138.5±16.0 mmHg; p=0.003) and 3 (125.2±11.2 vs 141.5±26.6mmHg; p=0.003) minutes.en_US
