Adjustment and its Relationship with Individual, Social and Clinical Factors among Diabetes referred to University of Medical Sciences Hospitals in the North West of Iran in 1395
Abstract
Title: Compatibility with diabetes and its relationship with personal, social and clinical factors in patients with type 2 diabetes referred to the educational-treatment centers of northwest universities of medical sciences in 1395.
Introduction: Diabetes mellitus is one of the most challenging and threatening chronic disease of the twenty-first century. Catching this disease is accompanied by stress and the changes in personal, interpersonal and social performance. The exact understanding of compatibility with diabetes is the prerequisite of its management. This study was carried out with the aim of investigating the compatibility and personal-social and clinical factors related to it in patients with type 2 diabetes in northwest of country.
Method: This research is a descriptive-correlation research that was conducted on patients with type 2 diabetes referred to diabetes clinics of Imam Reza and Sina hospitals of Tabriz, Imam Hospital of Urmia and Imam Khomeini hospital of Ardebil and Valiasr hospital of zanjan in 1395. This research was carried out on 800 patients with type 2 diabetes by using of available sampling method. The tools of study was a questionnaire included two parts. The first part was the participant`s personal-social and clinical characteristics and the second part consisted of 43 statements about the compatibility with diabetes type 2. Data were analyzed by using of descriptive and inferential statistical methods (ANOVA, T-test and Pearson) in significant level (P<0.05) and by SPSS21 software.
Results:The average score of compatibility (166.24+_23.88) was from obtainable score range of 43-215 that it`s level was from medium to high. Findings also showed that there was a significant statistical relationship between compatibility and the variables of gender, age, marital status, education level, number of children, job status, income status, history of diabetes in the family, history of hospitalization, history of previous disease, type of the received treatment, use of Glucometer, smoking, economic status, employment status, education and the percentage of hemoglobin glucose (P<=0.05).
Conclusion:The average of compatibility in patients with type 2 diabetes was at medium level and some of the underlying variables are in associated with compatibility of patients with type 2 diabetes that can be involved in self-care behaviors and promotion of these patient`s compatibility level by identifying and adjusting some of these factors and support of family and community.
