dc.description.abstractOrganizational Power Attainment Process and its Development in Nursing: A Grounded Theory Approach. Abstract: Nursing power as an important force for moving forward to meet the fate of professional nursing and structural changes empowerment and power are well and concerning nurses. However, few researchers have focused specifically on the process of empowerment in Iranian nurses. Therefore, Understanding the empowerment process through the eyes of the nurses who experience it could help health professionals and nurses to facilitate empowerment. Method: A grounded theory research design was used to collect data from 20 nurses and nurse directors who were selected by purposeful and theoretical sampling. Data were collected using personal in depth unstructured interviews lasted between 45 and 90 min from one to two times. The interviews were audiotaped and themes were identified using Strauss and Corbin method. Results: Total of 1017 primary codes, merge several times to reach conceptual density and 367 original code was extracted with broader concept that eventually main theme of "prudence and self –esteem", "management challenges", "independence professional", "professional dignity", "contextual facilitator" and "Exterior structural barriers" was extracted. "Impair the professional independence" was central variable and has centrality of the data during the analysis process has been revealed. Conclusion: The lack of "professional independence" in nurses are central to the process of achieving power. Realization of organizational strength depends on the interaction between nurses and patients were necessary to promote the organization and development capabilities and professional boundaries.en_US
