dc.description.abstractFirst derivative UV spectrophotometry has been used for the simultaneous determination of acetaminophen and codeine. Acetaminophen has been assayed by measuring the first derivative absorbances at 263.4 nm and codeine at 251.2 nm. The concentrations of acetaminophen and codeine have been calculated without interference of each other. The procedure is simple and rapid and provides accurate and precise results.
