dc.description.abstractBackground and Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate the correlation of personality dimensions and development of cancer by using the Cloninger's Temperament and Character Inventory in subjects with cancer. Material and Method: This study included 100 patients and 100 normal people as our matched group, which was selected non-randomly. The subjects completed Cloninger's Temperament and Character Inventory TCI-125. Data were analyzed by MANCOVA. Results: The results of this study revealed that the scores of novelty seeking and co-cooperativeness were low and scores of harm avoidance were high in the patients with cancer in comparison to those of normal subjects. Conclusion: Considering the correlation of personality traits with cancer, we recommend psychological interventions for these patients.
