dc.description.abstract | Sahandi savory (Satureja sahendica Bornm.) from the family Lamiaceae is one of the important medicinal plant species in Iran. The present study describes callus relative growth rate (RGR) of S. sahendica using seedling nodal explants and the influence of different plant growth regulators including Naphthylacetic acid (NAA), Thidiazuron (TDZ), Kinetin (Kin), Dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) on modified Murashige and Skoog medium at the presence and absence of PVP (Polyvinylpyrrolidone). To determine the best concentration and composition of plant growth regulators and media for callus induction, 12 treatments were compared in a completely randomized design with three replicates. According to the results, the different concentrations and combination of the auxin and cytokinin have a relatively wide range of effectiveness for RGR. As a result, NAA+TDZ group was found to have a more positive influence than 2,4-D+Kin. Actually, the highest amount of RGR was obtained from NAA 0.5 mg.l-1 with TDZ 0.5 mg.l-1 treatment at PVP+ media. é OmicsVista Group. All rights reserved. | |
