Introduction: One of the most serious problems in dentistry is the growth of bacteria and fungi on complete dentures. The growth in question takes place on the surface of the elastic liners of their tissue conditioners. However, this problem can be solved by adding nanoparticles with antibacterial and antifungal properties to the tissue conditioners. Materials and methods: After bacterial and fungal microorganisms were cultured, the suspensions obtained were incubated for 24 and 48 h respectively. It was conducted under incubation conditions with a tissue conditioner containing chitosan nanoparticles. The growth rate of microorganisms was measured in the culture medium using a spectrophotometer. Results: Different concentrations of chitosan nanoparticles led to the inhibition of fungal and bacterial growth in within both 24 and 48 h. Conclusion: Chitosan nanoparticles have an inhibitory effect on the growth of bacteria and pathogenic fungi. é 2018
