dc.description.abstractAn extension to the Jouyban-Acree model was proposed to calculate the retention factor of analytes in RPLC with hydro-organic solvent mixtures as mobile phase by using the Abraham solvent coefficients and Abraham solute parameters. The accuracy of the proposed method was checked by computing the mean percentage deviation as a criterion. The proposed method provides an ab initio prediction (without employing any experimental retention data of an analyte) method with an acceptable prediction error for the retention data of various analytes based on their chemical structures. The accuracy of the proposed method was also compared with that of a previously reported model and provided comparable results with the advantage of modeling the effects of various organic modifiers using a single equation.
