dc.description.abstract | Solubilities of amiodarone HCl (AMDH) in propylene glycol + ethanol, propylene glycol + water and their ternary solvent mixtures at 25 and 37 degrees C are reported. The maximum solubility of AMDH was observed in propylene glycol + ethanol at 37 degrees C and propylene glycol mass fraction of 0.70 among the investigated solvent systems in this work. The Jouyban-Acree model and its combination with the van't Hoff equation were used to correlate the solubility of AMDH in the investigated binary solvents and the mean relative deviations of 4.8% and 3.3% were obtained respectively for two models. The corresponding deviation from the Jouyban-Acree model for ternary solvents was 17.5%. (C) 2013 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved. | |
