dc.description.abstractPurpose: The present study aimed to determine the relationship between psychological empowerment and assertiveness skill among nurses. Materials and Methods: The present study was a cross-sectional study and the statistical population included all the nurses working in neonatal wards and neonatal intensive care unit in Children Hospital, Alzahra Hospital, Taleghani Hospital and 29 Bahman Hospital in Tabriz, Iran. Using random sampling method, 150 nurses were selected from neonatal wards. Data collection was performed using Spritzer's Psychological Empowerment Questionnaire as well as Gambrier and Ricci's Assertiveness Questionnaire. Results: Results showed a significantly positive relationship between assertiveness and psychological empowerment with the correlation value of 0.368; meaning that, the more the psychological empowerment of the nurses, the higher the level of their assertiveness, and vice versa. Conclusion: Increasing the efficiency of organizations requires improving the efficiency and empowerment of human resources. Meanwhile, increasing the efficiency of human resources entails education and development of knowledge and skills as well as creating desirable behaviors in order for successful working.
