dc.description.abstractLike all other surgeries third molar removal has its own complications like pain and swelling and the aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship of impacted third molar surgery with joint noises, limitation in mouth opening and pain of temporomandibular joint. 70 patients were evaluated before surgery and considering the TMJ disorders were devided into two groups and then were evaluated one week and 1 month after surgery. Out of patients 39 ones were symptom free and 31 patients had one of the temporomandibular disorders. Results: after one week there was a meaningful difference in maximum mouth opening and joint pain but after one month there was no significant difference and there was no relationship between third molar surgery and temporomandibular noises.
