Evaluation of the knowledge, attitude and practice of the Urmia dentists about infection control methods in 2009

Abstract

High incidence of dangerous disease like hepatitis, AIDS, make necessary the respect of infection control principles for all persons who work in medical Hygenic units. Meterials and Methods: This study was performed by cross sectional descriptional method. statistical group consist of 120 dentists who wonk in Urmia city . Questionairs that was distributed among them consisted of 15 questions Obtained informations were analyzed by using descriptional statistical tests and T- test and infection controls SPSS/13. Results: The average score obtained by men was 10.48 2.34 and for weomen was 10.88 2.02 that was not statistically significance. 47.5% of dentists obtained average score (8-11) . There was visa versa relationship between time spent from graduation and knowledge of dentists. Conclusion: Kowledge levels of Urmia dentists in regard to infection control were intermediate.
