Microleakage is a clinical problem which may cause failure of endodontic therapy. Therefore , an endodontic sealer should have good sealing . The aim of this study was to compare the apical leakage of roots obturated with gutta- percha using AH26- Adseal or Endofill as sealer in the presence or absence of smear (layer). Materials and Methods: In this in vitro study , 100 single-rooted teeth were used. Crowns were removed; then cleaning and shapping was done with step back technique and canals were obturated with gutta-percha and AH26 or Adseal or Endofill sealer. Teeth were randomly divided into three experimental groups (n=20) and two negative and positive control groups (n=30) and 2 subgroups (n=15) positive or neghative for smear layer. samples were submerged in Indiain ink for 72 hours. These samples were longitudinally sectioned and were observed and penetration was measured under a stereomicroscope at 20. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistical methods and one-way ANOVA using SPSS/13 statistical software. Results: The mean peretration of AH26 , Adseal and Endofill was 1.21,1.44 and 1.82 respectively. Endofill had statistically significant difference with another groups (p 0/05), indeed the mean of penetration in AH26 and Adseal in the presence or absence of smear layer was significantly difference. Conclusion: AH26 and Adseal are more effative than Endofill in prevodtation of apical microleakage.
