Lichen planus (LP) is a relatively common, disorder with unknown etiology. It is well documented that the disease represents a cell mediated immune response. Due to the importance of Hepatitis c and variations in correlation between HCV and Lichen planus in different geographic areas, this investigation was conducted to determine the prevalence of HCV anti body in lichen planus patients. Materials and methods: This study included 30 patients with cutaneous LP, 30 patients with oral LP and 30 healthy individuals without LP as control group. Patients and control group were selected from those referred to dental and dermatology clinic. Anti-HCV test was performed for all subjects. Descriptive statistic (frequency and percentage) were applied and chi-square test was employed to compare mean differences, using SPSS win/13 computer software. Results: No significant association was found between LP and HCV-antibody by using ELASA assay in the study groups (P=0.50). No significant difference was observed in sex and age between the three groups (X2=1.08 Df=2 P=0.581) Conclusion: all groups was negative anti-HCV, In this study, no significant association was found between LP and HVC antibody in the study groups.
