Synthesis and characterization of two copper (II) complexes of 4?-tolyl-2,2?:6?,2?-terpyridine and simultaneous detection and separation of [Cu(ttpy)(NO3)2] and CuO by capillary zone electrophoresis method

Abstract

A simple synthetic method has been used to prepare copper(II) complexes of 4?-tolyl-2,2?:6?,2?-terpyridine (ttpy) ligand, [Cu(ttpy) (NO3)2] (1) and [Cu2(ttpy)(ClO4)4]n (2), in good yields. Also capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE) method was used for simultaneous detection and separation of complex 1 and CuO obtained from its calcination. Copyright © Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
