An unusual muscle of the wrist with potential compression of the ulnar nerve
MetadataShow full item record
During routine cadaveric dissection of the upper extremity an unusual muscle was discovered arising from the tendon of the flexor carpi ulnaris and inserting into the muscle belly of the flexor digitiminimi. The muscle's course was superficial to the ulnar nerve and artery in Guyon's canal. We review the literature regarding such muscle variations and discuss the potential for compression of the ulnar nerve by such muscles. Copyright é 2006 Via Medica.

Reliability of the ultrasound measurements of abdominal muscles activity when activated with and without pelvic floor muscles contraction Tahan, N; Rasouli, O; Arab, AM; Khademi, K; Samani, EN (2014)BACKGROUND: Synergistic co-activation of the abdominal and pelvic floor muscles (PFM) has been shown in literature. Some studies have assessed the reliability of ultrasound measures of the abdominal muscles. OBJECTIVE: The ...
Insights into the functional roles of alpha; 1-adrenoceptor subtypes in mouse carotid arteries using knockout mice Deighan, C; Methven, L; Naghadeh, MM; Wokoma, A; Macmillan, J; Daly, CJ; Tanoue, A; Tsujimoto, G; McGrath, JC (2005)? 1-Adrenoceptor (AR) subtypes in mouse carotid arteries were characterised using a combination of agonist/antagonist pharmacology and knockout (KO) mice. Phenylephrine (PE) was most potent in the ? 1B-KO (pEC 50 = 6.9 آ± ...
